Temporary Stop Discontinuation

Sunday, June 9 until Sunday, June 23, 2013

Due to necessary track work along SEPTA trolley lines, boarding locations for the following Rt. 40 stations will change during the dates noted above:

Northbound:

41st & Lancaster Ave.

As an alternate, customers can board at 42nd & Lancaster Ave.

41st & Olive Street

As an alternate, customers can board at 41st & Brown Street (farside stop) for service to Society Hill

40th Street Bridge Reopening - Regular Route 38 & 40 Routing Resumes

Effective Sunday, November 25, 2012

With the re-opening of the 40th Street bridge over Amtrak, Route 38 and Route 40 service changes will be as follows:

Route 38

Route 38 will resume its regular routing via 40th Street.

Route 40

Eastbound service will return to its regular routing via 40th Street.

Westbound service will continue its present detour around the closed 41st Street bridge via Left on Mantua Avenue, Right on 42nd Street, Right on Girard Avenue and Left on 41st Street where it will resume its regular route.

We wish to thank you for your patience during this City of Philadelphia construction project; these changes are expected to reduce overall travel time and improve the on-time performance for these routes.

Timetable maps on the SEPTA website will be revised to show the changes, however new paper timetables will not be issued until the February 17, 2013 schedule change.
