Passenger Etiquette

Yes, we have made adjustments to our eating and drinking rules.

Why?

In today's travel environment, the time riding SEPTA, may be the only break between home and taking the kids to daycare, between work and school, or first and second job and it may be the only time to have a light snack.

The food items pictured provide a nice contrast between what is considered a light snack and what is not. It is without question that cooked and prepared foods are not meant to be consumed on a vehicle in motion with customers in motion. These type of food items can take a ride home with you.

A vehicle in motion, with customers in motion and open containers and cans are not a good mix. We have the makings for a mess that can send a customer home to change their clothes or sticky floors that can pull shoes off feet. If you must quench your thirst, please use a container with a sturdy, resealable lid.

Your willingness to cooperate is appreciated.

Customer comfort and convenience is an important consideration for SEPTA. Help us keep your travel space clean and inviting - take any trash off the vehicles with you and dispose of properly. Leave behind smiles and good will.
