The 2017 NFL Draft, one of sports most anticipated events, returns to Philadelphia for the first time since 1961 for 3 jam packed days of events on the Ben Franklin Parkway - Thursday, April 27, Friday, April 28, and Saturday, April 29, 2017.
The player draft, will be held in a specially constructed Theater being built at the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the NFL invites you to an exciting free festival complete with interactive exhibits, games, virtual reality experiences, and free player autograph sessions in the area of the Ben Franklin Parkway, Eakins Oval, and the Museum.
With the expected crowds, parking, especially at SEPTA station lots will fill quickly. Details about parking are listed below but we suggest that you consider all of our service options to take you from your travel starting point out to the Parkway.
Buses
To set up for this event, the City will begin closing area roads before the Draft starts. This means several SEPTA Bus Routes will operate on temporary detours. This work will be done in phases with 3 different groups of detours for select Bus Routes taking effect Monday, April 10th, Monday, April 24th, and Monday, May 1st. Additionally, Bus Routes 38 and 43 will operate on a temporary detour during the event, starting April 27th. Please refer to the detailed detour information below to plan your commute.

Market Frankford and Broad Street Lines
The first 2 days of the NFL Draft take place during the week and SEPTA service will operate on regular weekday schedules. Please keep this in mind when making your travel plans. The Market Frankford and Broad Street Lines are always the best way to get around Philadelphia with frequent service throughout the day and easy connections from the Norristown High Speed Line and Route 101/102 Trolleys.
Additional PM service will be provided for the break of the events on the Parkway on the Thursday and Friday evening to help ease return travel crowding. On Friday and Saturday evenings, the Market Frankford and Broad Street Line trains will operate 24 hours for late night travel.
Free parking will be available down at the sports stadium complex for anyone planning on attending the Draft events. Take the Broad Street Line from AT&T Station and get off at City Hall, Race-Vine, or Spring Garden Stations - all are within walking distance of the Parkway. If you're riding the Market Frankford Line, exit at 15th Station and walk out to the Parkway.
Trolley
If you're traveling on Trolley Routes 10, 11, 13, 34, or 36 from West Philadelphia or Southwest Philadelphia, the station stops at 19th or 22nd Streets will bring you within a few blocks walk to the Parkway. Additional Trolley service will operate on these routes on Thursday and Friday between6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Route 15 Trolley riders can connect to the Broad Street Line at Girard Ave. for travel to Spring Garden or Race Vine Stations.
Regional Rail
Regional Rail will operate regular weekday and weekend service with added cars to increase capacity during off peak travel periods. Please be sure to check the April 23, 2017 timetables for schedule information.

CCT Connect
Due to road closures in the area of the Ben Franklin Parkway, CCT Service will pick up at 20th & Spring Garden Sts. (2000 Spring Garden St.), near the Route 43 transit stop.
Parking
Parking at SEPTA stations is very popular and many lots fill early during the AM commute. The lots listed below will be your best options, especially if you are traveling midday on Thursday or Friday. On Saturday, parking is free at all SEPTA Regional Rail Station surface lots. Additionally, parking at the Wells Fargo Center will also be provided on April 27th, 28th, and 29th, as noted below.

To ease your travel during the NFL Draft, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the event, SEPTA Revenue personnel will be at Fern Rock Transportation Center Walnut-Locust, and AT&T Stations (Broad Street Line) and at the Dilworth Park Transit Entrance (Thursday & Friday 4:00 p.m.-12 Midnight and Saturday 12 Noon to 8:00 p.m.) selling Key Cards preloaded with Travel Wallet funds. Purchase one of these Key Cards and you'll be able to tap and go on all SEPTA Transit routes.
Regional Rail
Airport Regional Rail Line from Philadelphia International Airport
Travelers flying into Philadelphia can take the Airport Regional Rail Line directly from their Arrival Terminal to one of our five Center City Stations. Purchase a Quick Trip from the Fare Kiosk at the Terminal or purchase a fare on board the train from the Conductor.
For travel on all other Regional Rail Lines, you can use a One Day Independence Pass, SEPTA Pass, Tickets or purchase a fare on the train from the Conductor. To speed your trip and get the best value for your travel, we recommend purchasing your tickets/fares in advance.
On Thursday and Friday, between 3:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. and on Saturday, between 12:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. all fares will be collected and/or validated before customers can go to the train boarding area at the five Center City Stations - Temple, Jefferson, Suburban, 30th Street and University City Stations. Cash and SEPTA Key Cards will not be accepted so please make certain to purchase your fare for the trip home in advance.
NFL Draft Experience is free and no tickets are required. If you're taking SEPTA please keep in mind the following security measures will be in place when you get to the Parkway:
All fans and items (purses, small handbags, etc.) are subject to physical inspection by security personnel. Fans who do not agree to this search will not be allowed in the event.
The NFL Draft is not the only event going on in the City. The 123rd Penn Relays will also be taking place at Franklin Field on the University of Pennsylvania campus April 27-29, 2017. So please plan your SEPTA travel in advance.
