Susan G. Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure

The 2018 Susan G. Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Walk returns to Philadelphia Sunday, May 13, 2018 and participants can take advantage of special early morning Regional Rail service, arriving in Center City between 5:30 a.m. and 6:45 a.m.

Race Information

Opening ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. in the area of Eakins Oval and the Philadelphia Museum of Art:

  • Runners 5K: 8:15 a.m.
  • Walkers 5K: 8:20 a.m.
  • 1-Mile Fun Walk: 8:25 a.m.

Special 2018 Race for the Cure Regional Rail Schedule

SEPTA encourages participants and spectators to ride our early morning Regional Rail trains. Customers can use Google Transit to find the best way to get to Eakins Oval from a SEPTA Regional Rail station.

Please note, a special Wilmington/Newark Line Saturday & Sunday schedule is in effect due to the during Amtrak track repairs due to freight derailment. Customers should visit the special Wilmington/Newark Line service page for service information.

The special schedule includes added and early morning service, departing from the following Regional Rail stations:

*Train #502 (departing Marcus Hook Station at 5:41 a.m.) will operate as scheduled; however, customers should refer to the special Saturday & Sunday timetable for all other Wilmington/Newark Line trains.

Customers can see their train in real-time on TrainView.

Bus Detours

The following SEPTA Bus Routes will operate on a temporary detour Sunday, May 13, 2018 beginning at 7:30 a.m. Detours are scheduled to end at 1:00 p.m.; however, customers should check TransitView for the latest service information.

Location of Detour: Ben Franklin Parkway, between Eakins Oval and Logan Circle; Girard Ave., between Poplar and Lansdowne Drives

Detoured Routes: 7, *15, 27, 32, 33, 38, 43, 48

*Trolley Route 15 will temporarily operate as a Bus for the entire service day, Sunday, May 13, 2018

Routing will be published on System Status prior to the race. Customers should select the orange detour icon to view specific detour service information.
