For the first time in more than 30 years, the Merion Golf Club will host the 2013 U.S. Open Championship and SEPTA is your ticket for getting to and from the tournament. If you're not going to the U.S .Open but travel on the Norristown High Speed Line or Paoli/Thorndale Regional Rail Lines, please make note of the special schedules that will be in effect June 10-16 and the parking changes at Rosemont and Ardmore Avenue Stations. Also please be prepared for additional customers traveling the SEPTA system.
This year marks the sixth U.S. Open Championship to be held at the Merion Golf Club and the first since 1981.
Below, we've put together a list of links, tips and information to help you in your travels.
Gates open at 6 a.m. for the tournament, which runs from June 10 through the 16th. The tournament opens with practice rounds between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday followed by the Championship Rounds and a Playoff, if there is a tie. In the event a tie does occur, make sure to check septa.org for the latest schedule information.
SEPTA Paoli/Thorndale Regional Rail and the Norristown High Speed Lines offer comfortable, convenient and safe ways to get you to the tournament.
Ticket Office Hours:
During the U.S. Open Championship, all Paoli/Thorndale Line ticket offices are open Saturday and Sunday, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Take the Paoli/Thorndale Regional Rail Line to Rosemont Station. Those riders using other Regional Rail Lines can transfer to the Paoli Line at 30th Street, Suburban or Market East stations in Center City. Free shuttle bus service to and from the Rosemont Station and Merion Golf Club will be provided. Plan for a 10 minute trip on the shuttle buses, depending on traffic.
Monday - Friday: 5:00 a.m. - 8:15 p.m. (Service every 25-30 minutes)
(8:22 p.m. - 11:52 p.m.: hourly train service towards Amtrak 30th St Station)
Saturday & Sunday: 6:00 a.m. - 7:45 p.m. (Service every 30 minutes)
(7:48 p.m. - 10:48 p.m.: hourly train service towards Amtrak 30th St Station)

Take the Norristown High Speed Line (NHSL) to Ardmore Avenue Station. You can connect to the NHSL at 69th Street Transportation Center in Upper Darby, PA or the Norristown Transportation Center in Norristown, PA.
Monday - Friday: 5:00 a.m. - 6:45 p.m. (Service every 10 minutes)
6:45 p.m. - 12 Midnight (Service every 15-20 minutes)
Saturday & Sunday: 5:00 a.m. - 8:40 p.m. (Service every 10 minutes)
8:40 p.m. - 12 Midnight (Service 20-30 minutes)
All stops along the Paoli/Thorndale Regional Rail and Norristown High Speed Line offer parking. Check availability at the station nearest you using our Clickable Regional Rail & Rail Transit Map
Please note that when riding on a City or Suburban Transit service, exact fare must be used.
Parking lots at Ardmore Avenue station will be closed during the U.S. Open, while parking will be limited at Rosemont Station. As an alternate, Paoli/Thorndale Line customers may park at Villanova or Radnor stations and then ride the train to Rosemont.
Rosemont Station parking is open to customers.
For Ardmore Avenue Station, Norristown High Speed Line customers should park at Haverford, Ardmore Junction or Bryn Mawr stations.
Additional Parking Available:
Additional parking is available to customers over the weekend with extended hours at two parking lots within walking distance of the Norristown Transportation Center. Customers may park in the lot directly across the street from NTC, the Citizens Bank building parking lot, and at another lot, located at Main and Cherry Streets.
Customers will go through a security screening before entering championship grounds. Scroll down to our security section for a list of items not permitted at the tournament.

Drivers should avoid Ardmore Avenue between Darby Road and Haverford Road and Haverford Road between College Avenue and Ardmore Avenue, as these roads will be closed during the championship.
Spectators attending the tournament will go through a security screening prior to entering the Championship grounds. The USGA is not allowing spectators to bring several items, including PDAs, tablets and other portable email devices, noise producing devices such as MP3 players, bags larger than 8" W x 8" H x 8" in D, signs posters and banners.
