PA Senior Citizen Transit ID Cards
Senior Citizens, age 65 and older, wishing to ride SEPTA bus, trolley, and subway service FREE of charge, or take advantage of the $1.00 Regional Rail fare within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania must show one of these three forms of ID:
- Railroad Retirement Annuity Card
- Medicare Card (Issued by the Social Security Administration)
- PA Senior Citizen Transit ID Card
Senior Citizens with a valid PACE or ACCESS Card and proof of age, may ride Regional Rail for free within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Trips made to the selected stations SEPTA serves in New Jersey and the State of Delaware require an additional fare.

STEP #1 |
The application for a Senior Citizen Transit Identification Card is available to download or may be obtained in person at any of the five SEPTA Customer Service locations and participating State Legislator Offices.

SEPTA Customer Service will help you determine if your local Legislative Office participates in the distribution of the Senior Citizen Transit Identification Card. Representatives can be reached by calling 215-580-7800, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. until 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. |

STEP #2 |
Applicants for a Senior Citizen Transit Identification Card MUST appear in person to complete the application process. Applications will NOT be accepted by mail.
You may visit any of the five SEPTA Customer service locations or a participating State Legislator office.
Applicants are required to show at least one of the following accepted forms of identification along with a completed application:

- Pennsylvania ID Card (Non-Driver)
- Photo Drivers License

STEP #3 |
Applications are processed by the SEPTA Customer Service department. Please allow approximately 7-14 business days for receipt of your ID card.
All Senior Citizen Transit Identification Cards are mailed to customers.

 Male customers receive a blue ID card.
|
 Female customers receive a yellow ID card.
