Officers in the Community Affairs Unit work to establish relationships between the Transit Police and the various communities in the SEPTA service region. Officers make presentations to schools, community groups, and other interested organizations concerning safety on the system, crime prevention, and transit etiquette, in addition to educating youngsters about SEPTA’s aggressive anti-graffiti efforts.

This Unit also produces various handouts and brochures for riders concerning pickpocket prevention, auto-theft prevention and public transit safety and etiquette. Officers also frequently attend community events such as career days, job fairs, and expositions. They also host holiday parties and other activities for neighborhood children.
