An event unique to the transit industry took place when SEPTA was featured on the National Geographic show "World's Toughest Fixes" in an episode entitled "Philly Mega Transit."
In 2009, National Geographic spent over 100 hours filming on the system to get behind the scene stories showing how a complex transit operation works. Sean Riley, host of the show along with the film crew worked side by side with SEPTA's engineers, mechanics and equipment maintenance workers.
