Stimulus Construction To Cause Late Evening Closures At Fairmount Station

Major Work Ongoing At Nearby Girard And Spring Garden Stations

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Monday through Friday evening (January 11 through 15) from 9 p.m. through the end of service, Broad Street line trains will not stop at Fairmount Station due to construction as overnight stimulus construction continues at Girard and Spring Garden Stations. Train service will return for the AM rush-hour each day.

Riders traveling northbound who wish to go to Fairmount Avenue will have to exit the Broad Street Subway at Spring Garden Street and transfer to the Route C bus. Southbound passengers will have to exit at Girard Avenue to transfer to the Route C bus to Fairmount Avenue. Riders are advised to plan additional travel time.

Regular Broad Street Line Nite-Owl buses will operate from Fern Rock to Pattison Stations between 12 a.m. until 5:30 a.m.

The Girard and Spring Garden Stations Revitalization Project is the largest of 32 federally funded SEPTA stimulus construction projects designed to improve transportation while invigorating the economy by creating jobs.
