SEPTA Adding Extra Race For The Cure Service Sunday

PHILADELPHIA, PA - SEPTA will operate special early morning regional rail service to accommodate the thousands of participants and spectators traveling to the 5K Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure. The race, which starts at the Art Museum and winds through Fairmount Park, is Sunday, May 9 from 7 a.m. through 11:00 a.m.

The SEPTA Independence Pass is a sure bet for savings on travel cost and help encourage everyone to make-it-a-day in Philadelphia. Pricing varies if you are traveling as an individual or family. Passes can be purchased on the train.

Additional rail service includes:

Wilmington/Marcus Hook (R2) - An extra train will depart Marcus Hook Station at 5:48 a.m. and arrive at Suburban Station in Center City at 6:25 a.m.

West Trenton (R3) - An extra train will leave West Trenton Station at 5:18 a.m. arriving at 30th Street Station in Center City Philadelphia at 6:24 a.m.

Media/Elwyn (R3) - An extra train will depart Elwyn Station at 5:38 a.m. and arrive at Suburban Station in Center City at 6:13 a.m.

Lansdale/Doylestown (R5) - An extra train will depart Lansdale Station at 5:12 a.m. arriving at 30th Street Station in Center City at 6:11 a.m.

Paoli/Malvern (R5) - An extra train will leave Malvern Station at 5:20 a.m. and arrive at Suburban Station in Center City at 6:10 a.m.

Norristown (R6) - An extra train will depart Elm Street Station at 5:48 a.m. arriving 30th Street Station in Center City at 6:38 a.m.

Early morning trains will also depart Glenside (R1), Chestnut Hill East (R7), Warminster (R2) and the Airport Line (R1) terminals E & F between 5:29 a.m. and 6:11 a.m.

Riders are reminded that from 7:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. bus Routes 2, 7, 9, 17, 27, 31, 32, 33, 38, 43, 44, 48, 124 and 125 will be detoured in Center City for the event.
