SEPTA Service Reminder for DNC Day 2: Extra Service on Broad Street Line Subway

July 26, 2016

PHILADELPHIA, PA (July 26, 2016) - Heading into the second night of the Democratic National Convention, SEPTA would like to remind visitors that extra service will operate on the Broad Street Line subway, which provides access to the Wells Fargo Center via AT&T Station.

From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., additional trains will supplement regularly scheduled local and express service. Customers can board the Broad Street Line for travel to AT&T Station at several Center City locations, including Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust Stations.

After the event, SEPTA will have trains ready at AT&T Station for return trips to Center City. Customers are encouraged to go directly to AT&T Station after the event. SEPTA personnel will monitor the crowds to ensure that riders are able to board a train before service concludes. SEPTA Ambassadors and other personnel will also be on-hand at stations to assist customers.

Before and after the event, riders can connect with the Broad Street Line from other SEPTA modes, including the Market-Frankford Line, bus and trolley routes, and Regional Rail lines.

Please note: For Tuesday evening, SEPTA is scheduled to run Broad Street Line service to-and-from all regularly scheduled stops. On Monday, southbound service was temporarily halted at Oregon Avenue due to public safety concerns near AT&T Station, however, that travel restriction has been lifted.

SEPTA would also like to remind riders that bus detours will continue to be put into effect as needed due to road closures. Projected bus detours are listed online at www.septa.org/events/dncphilly.html, and riders are encouraged to follow @SEPTA_Bus on Twitter for up-to-date bus service information.
