SEPTA Broad Street Line "Sports Express" Service Ready To Run To Phillies, Eagles Games On Thursday At The South Philadelphia Sports Complex

PHILADELPHIA, PA  – SEPTA Broad Street Line service is the best route to all of the action at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex on Thursday, August 30 as the Phillies and New York Mets complete a four game series with a 1:05 p.m. game at Citizens Bank Park while the Eagles final pre-season game against the New York Jets at Lincoln Financial Field is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start.

Sports fans using the Broad Street Line will travel in air conditioned comfort and avoid parking fees and the expected traffic jams in the area.

For the Phillies game, Broad Street Line “Sports Express” trains will leave Fern Rock Transportation Center at 10:55 a.m., 11:03 a.m., 12:03 p.m., and 12:15 p.m.

SEPTA Broad Street Line Sports Express trains make station stops only at Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust Stations en route to Pattison Station and the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.The express trip from City Hall to the Sports Complex takes only about eight minutes. Local and regular Broad Street Line express trains will also be in service for fans heading to the Phillies game.

For the Eagles game, Broad Street Line Sports Express trains will leave Fern Rock every ten minutes from 6:05 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. en route to Pattison Station and the Sports Complex. After the games fans will find local and express trains standing by to provide service back to Fern Rock.

In addition, SEPTA will open the lower level platform at Pattison Station before and after the games allowing for easier travel into and out of the station.

Also, Eagles driving into Center City can park at any one of five city-owned parking lots for only $5.00 when they show a current game-day ticket. There they can purchase a two-pack of SEPTA tokens ($2.60) and take the short walk to the Broad Street Line City Hall Station and board a scheduled southbound train to the stadium.

·AutoPark - Center City Lot - 15th & Arch Streets

·Gateway Garage - 15th & Vine Streets

·AutoPark - Gallery Mall - 10th & Filbert Streets

·AutoPark - Jefferson - 10th & Ludlow Streets
