SEPTA Broad Street "Sports Express" Service Is The Best Route To The Temple-Penn State Football Game On Saturday At Lincoln Financial Field

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The SEPTA Broad Street line is the best route to the action on Saturday, November 10 at the South Philadelphia Sports and Entertainment Complex as college football fans and local alumni “hoot and roar” and the Temple University Owls welcome the Penn State Nittany Lions to Lincoln Financial Field. The game marks the first time that the Temple-Penn State game has been played in South Philadelphia in 16 years.
Football fans using the Broad Street Line to travel to the sold-out game will ride in comfort avoiding the expected traffic jams in the area and expensive parking fees.
For the noon game on Saturday (November 10), ten special SEPTA Broad Street Line “Sports Express” trains added to the regular Saturday schedule will leave Fern Rock Transportation Center every 10 minutes from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Broad Street Line Sports Express trains stop only at the Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust Stations en route to Pattison Station and the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. Broad Street Line Sports Express trains take only about eight minutes to travel from City Hall Station to Pattison Station at the Sports Complex.
In addition, local and regular express Broad Street Line trains also run about every 12 minutes throughout the day on the weekend schedule.
After the game, local and express trains will be standing by to provide northbound service back to Fern Rock.
Later in the evening, local Broad Street Line service is set to take hockey and soccer fans to the sports complex for 7 p.m. games as the Flyers battle the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Wachovia Center and the Kixx meet the Detroit Ignition at the Wachovia Spectrum.
