SEPTA Broad Street Line Service Ready To Roll For The Eagles/Giants Football Game On Sunday

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The SEPTA Broad Street Line is ready for action as the Philadelphia Eagles prepare to take a giant step towards the National Football League playoffs on Sunday, December 9 with a 1 p.m. game at Lincoln Financial Field against the division rival New York Giants.
Eagles fans using the Broad Street Line to travel to the game will ride in climate controlled comfort and avoid the expected traffic delays and expensive parking fees in the sports complex area.
Special Broad Street Line “Sports Express” service added to the regular Sunday schedule will depart Fern Rock Transportation Center every ten minutes from 10:10 a.m. until 12:20 p.m. en route to Pattison Station and the South Philadelphia sports and entertainment complex. The last time these teams met in Philadelphia, more than 10,000 football fans used the Broad Street line to travel to the Eagles winning effort in a highly-charged playoff contest.
Broad Street Line Sports Express trains stop only at the Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust Stations en route to Pattison Station.The express trip from City Hall to Pattison Station takes only about eight minutes.It is a 27-minute ride from Fern Rock.
Local Broad Street Line trains operate about every 12 minutes or less on the Sunday schedule. In addition, to make the ride more convenient, SEPTA will open the lower level platform at Pattison Station before and after the game allowing for easier travel into and out of the station.
After the game fans will find trains standing by to provide express and local service back to Fern Rock.
For all Eagles games fans traveling into Center City can also take advantage of discounted $5.00 parking at any one of five city-operated parking lots.A two-pack of SEPTA tokens ($2.90) may be purchased at the parking lots which are just steps from the Broad Street Line City Hall Station.
