SEPTA Broad Street Line Set For Phillies/Sixers Games This Weekend
SEPTA the Best Way to Several Scheduled Events and Expected Snarled Traffic

PHILADELPHIA, PA –This weekend the South Philadelphia Sports & Entertainment Complex will be ‘teaming’ with fans en route to Sixers, Phillies, and Phantoms games which are expected to congest area roads. However special SEPTA Broad Street Line Sports Express service will be standing by to quickly take fans to cheer on their favorite team at the Sports Complex, rather than standing idle in traffic.
On Friday, April 11, extra Broad Street Line Sports Express trains will operate from Fern Rock Transportation Center at 6:18 p.m., 6:28 p.m. and 6:38 p.m. as nearly 60,000 fans are expected to head to three scheduled 7 p.m. sporting events at the Sports Complex. The Sixers tip off against the Indiana Pacers at the Wachovia Center, the Phillies host the Chicago Cubs at Citizens Bank Park, and the Phantoms take on the Hershey Bears in AHL action. Regular local and express trains will also be in service throughout the day.
Sports Express trains stop only at the Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race‑Vine, City Hall and Walnut‑Locust Stations en route to Pattison Station in South Philadelphia. The express trip from City Hall takes only about eight minutes. Local trains take only 11 minutes to travel to the Sports Complex from City Hall. After the events, local and express trains will be standing by to provide northbound service to Fern Rock.
On Saturday (April 12), Broad Street Line Sports Express service will again operate from Fern Rock en route to Pattison Station and the Sports Complex for the Phillies/Cubs 7 p.m. game with trains leaving at 6:08 p.m., 6:18 p.m. and 6:28 p.m. On Sunday (April 13), Sports Express trains operate for the final game of the Phillies home stand against the Cubs at 1:35 p.m. with trains leaving Fern Rock at 12:28 p.m., 12:38 p.m. and 12:48 p.m. for the Sports Complex.
