On December 19, 2013, SEPTA staff presented "Catching Up." This plan will address many of the transit system's most pressing needs, including critical infrastructure upgrades and equipment replacement.
The plan was presented after a comprehensive transportation funding bill was approved by the Pennsylvania General Assembly and signed by Governor Corbett in November 2013. The work outlined in "Catching Up" will address issues that were highlighted last year when SEPTA released its Service Realignment Plan, which laid out a number of measures to significantly shrink the transit system if new funding was not made available for critical, long-needed improvements.
This plan will focus on SEPTA's vital infrastructure and vehicle needs to ensure the continuation of safe, reliable service for customers.
SEPTA is hosting an Open House on the Capital Plan and invites elected officials, representatives of citizen groups, public agencies, and interested individuals to attend. Your comments are welcome.
