BusView (Prototype)

View the BusView prototype (opens in a new window)

In response to requests for real time bus information, SEPTA is pleased to offer customers a sneak peek at BusView. The prototype shows the near real-time location for buses along the following routes:

Route 33 between Penn's Landing and 23rd & Venango

Route 109 between 69th Street Terminal and Chester Transportation Center

Our internal system recognizes the new position of buses every three minutes, then BusView refreshes moments after with the new bus location information and that is what you will see on the route maps.

SEPTA is committed to creating technology that enhances the traveler experience and increases the level of customer communications and we are working to bring customers BusView for our entire network of bus routes in the near future.

Developing such a system involves working through a lot of behind-the-scenes data and translating that information for the web. As we present this prototype, we ask that customers understand there may be some inaccuracies in where a bus is actually located and we are verifying the accuracy of what we present.

Keeping that in mind, feedback of your experiences and observations is welcomed through our Customer Comment form

Using BusView (Prototype)

Choose the bus route from the selection drop down at the top of the screen

Each bus route is highlighted on the map in two colors

The bus icon represents the location last reported to SEPTA of the bus

A single click on a bus icon provides the actual number of the bus en route (not the route number), the direction the bus is traveling, and the time in which the bus reported being at that specific location
