Major Holidays and Events

Below is a list of important service dates for the 2014-15 calendar. Each date includes information on any service changes or special schedules to help you plan ahead. Unless noted below, SEPTA will operate as regularly scheduled.

Schedules, service and information is subject to change. Check this page regularly for updates and new information.

Calendar Year 2014

January

Wednesday, January 1 (New Year's Day - Mummers Parade)

All SEPTA services will operate on a Sunday schedule with the exception of Bus Routes 204, 205, 310, 312, and 316, which will not operate

Sunday, January 19

Spring Schedules Go into Effect

City, Frontier Divisions, Norristown High Speed Line Spring Schedules go into effect. Click here to view the schedules

Monday, January 20 (Martin Luther King Day)

City Transit will operate on a Modified Holiday Schedule

Norristown High Speed Line service, Suburban Division will operate on a regular Weekday schedule (no school)

February

February 8 - February 16 (Saturday & Sunday)

Philadelphia Auto Show

Customers are advised to plan ahead, as heavy ridership is anticipated across the SEPTA system. Please check our System Status page for real-time service information

Monday, February 17 (Presidents' Day)

City Transit operates on Modified Holiday Schedules. (No school)

Norristown High Speed Line, Regional Rail, Suburban Division vehicles will operate on a regular Weekday schedule

March

Saturday, March 1 - through Sunday, March 9

Philadelphia Flower Show

Customers are advised to plan ahead, as heavy ridership is anticipated across the SEPTA system. Please check our System Status page for real-time service information

Customers are reminded to set their clocks an hour forward

Spring schedules

Spring Schedules go into effect on all Regional Rail Lines. Please check this page regularly for schedule information

Customers are advised to plan ahead, as heavy ridership is anticipated across the SEPTA system. Please check our System Status page for real-time service information

Monday, May 26 (Memorial Day)

City and Frontier Divisions, Norristown High Speed Line, and Regional Rail will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule

Victory, Routes 110, 114, and 123 will operate on a modified Sunday schedule, with additional service available to accommodate workers and shoppers at major area shopping malls

Routes 204, 205, 310, and 316 will not operate

June

Sunday, June 1

Parx Casino Philly Cycling Classic

Half-hourly service will be available on the Manayunk/Norristown Line during the event. Click here for race day service information

Sunday, June 15 & Monday, June 16

New City, Frontier, and Victory Division schedules go into effect

All-night weekend Market-Frankford Line and Broad Street Line service goes into effect (Sunday, June 15, at 12:01 a.m.)

July

Friday, July 4 (Independence Day)

Additional service will be available on Regional Rail Trains following evening events in the Center City area

August

August 1

Trolley Tunnel Blitz begins

Fall City, Frontier, and Victory Division Schedules go into effect

September

September 1 (Labor Day)

City and Frontier Divisions, Norristown High Speed Line, and Regional Rail will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule

Victory Division: Routes 110, 114, and 123 will operate on a modified Sunday schedule, with additional service available to accommodate workers and shoppers at major area malls

Routes 204, 205, 310, 312, and 316 will not operate

Wednesday, September 3 & Thursday, September 4

Philadelphia Public and Parochial 2013-2014 School Term Begins

First day of class for Philadelphia Public Schools is Monday, September 8

Monday, October 13 (Columbus Day)

Public Schools will be closed

November

Thursday, November 27 (Thanksgiving Day: Thanksgiving Parade)

Market-Frankford and Broad Street Line service will operate on a Special Schedule. All-night Train service will be available beginning Thursday at 12:01 a.m. Regular Owl Bus Service will resume Friday at 12:01 a.m.

Regional Rail, City Transit will operate on a Sunday/Holiday Schedule

Routes 204, 205, 310, 312, and 316 will not operate

Friday, November 28 (Black Friday)

City Transit will operate on a special Modified Weekday schedule

Frontier, Victory Divisions, Norristown High Speed Line will operate on a Weekday schedule (schools closed)

Additional evening service will be available on City Transit Routes 14, 20, 25, and 50

Additional service will be available on Victory Routes 123 and 125, and Frontier Route 124

Regional Rail will operate on a Weekday schedule

December

Sunday, December 14

New Regional Rail Schedules go into effect

Wednesday, December 24 (Christmas Eve)

City Transit will operate on a special Modified Weekday schedule

Frontier, Victory Divisions, Norristown High Speed Line will operate on a Weekday schedule (schools closed)

Regional Rail will operate on a Weekday schedule

Thursday, December 25 (Christmas Day)

All SEPTA vehicles will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule with the exception of Route 123, which will not operate

Market-Frankford and Broad Street Line service will operate on a Sunday Schedule. All-night Train service will be available beginning Thursday at 12:01 a.m. Regular Owl Bus Service will resume Friday at 12:01 a.m.

Routes 204, 205, 310, 312, and 316 will not operate

Regional Rail will operate on a special schedule

Friday, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, December 26, 29, 30 & 31 (Prior to New Year's Eve)

City Transit will operate on a Modified Weekday schedule (schools closed)

Frontier, Victory Divisions, Norristown High Speed Line will operate on a Weekday schedule

Regional Rail will operate on a Weekday schedule

Wednesday, December 31 (New Year's Eve)

City Transit will operate on a Weekday schedule

Frontier, Victory Divisions, Norristown High Speed Line will operate on a Weekday schedule (schools closed)

Regional Rail will operate on a regular Weekday schedule

Additional Regional Rail service will be available to accommodate passengers attending evening events in the Center City area
