WINTER WEATHER
Winter season is here and that means, snow, ice, sleet, freezing rain
and sub-freezing temperatures. Weather conditions affect travel
throughout the Delaware Valley and depending on local road conditions
and vehicle availability, SEPTA CCT may provide full, limited or no
service. In addition, with the implementation of conditional
eligibility, it's important to know how the weather conditions will
impact your travel plans.
Weather conditions may vary within SEPTA's
five-county service area. CCT Connect service may also vary. During
weather-related emergencies, SEPTA will notify each carrier of the
level of service that can be provided on that particular day. Agencies
and customers should listen to KYW NewsRadio (1060AM) for public
service announcements.
Philadelphia operations will be determined
by conditions reported by SEPTA's "Winter Weather Storm Center" and the
School District of Philadelphia's "Transportation Program". Operations
in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties will reflect
conditions reported by SEPTA's Suburban Transportation Division Storm
Center, individual carriers and agencies. Remember, that service may
vary from county to county, depending on the severity of weather
conditions. Whenever possible, SEPTA will make a decision on CCT
Connect service by 7pm on the day PRECEDING A PREDICTED WEATHER
EMERGENCY.
CCT Connect uses a customer's information
on file when determining when snow-ice conditions apply to customers
who have conditional eligibility. An example: If snow-ice is forecast
for MONDAY, a decision to allow customers to use service will be made
SATURDAY, AFTER 4pm. A customer who qualifies under snow-ice
eligibility can then call reservations on SUNDAY to book rides for
Monday.
