Overnight Parking

SEPTA allows overnight parking at many Regional Rail stations. SEPTA commuters do not have to call and pre-arrange for overnight parking.

Overnight customers must park in designated daily fee lots.  A list of lots where overnight parking is not permitted is listed below.

If you leave your car at a station overnight, please park in a daily fee lot that has numbered spaces. If you have a current monthly parking permit, this will allow you to park overnight in the lot that is designated on the permit.

For parking lots that have a yellow coin slotbox for payment, payment must be made by check.  Place the payment in an envelope and insert the envelope in the envelope slot which is located on the rear of the yellow coinbox.

The envelope should contain the following information:

  • Parking space number
  • Car description:  make and license plate number
  • The date you park the vehicle and the date you will leave (duration of stay)

If you are parking at a facility with an electronic parking meter (Ambler, Fort Washington, Jenkintown, Warminster, Fern Rock and 69th Street), use the meter that allows for multi-day parking.  This would be #10 at Ambler, #23 at Fort Washington, #24 at Jenkintown, #19 at Warminster, #3 at Fern Rock, and #9 at 69th Street.  Multi-day payments are made as follows:

  • Enter space number on the keypad
  • Deposit the total payment in coins only for the number of days you will park.  For three days, deposit $3 in coins only.  For Regional Rail lots (Ambler, Fort Washington, Jenkintown and Warminster), the fee is $1 per day.  For City Transit lots (Fern Rock and 69th Street), the fee is $2 per day.  Remember to include free weekends (Saturday/Sunday) in your calculation.  Holidays are not free.
  • Press the green button to register payment.
  • A receipt will be issued for the total dollar amount paid.
  • Please retain receipt as proof of payment.  The receipt does not have to be displayed in your car.
  • For overnight parking with a parking card, enter your space number, insert your parking card, press the blue button once for each day you intend to park, and press the green button to validate the transaction and print a receipt.

Overnight parking is not permitted at the following stations:  Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, Downingtown, Doylestown, Elkins Park, Haverford, Overbrook, Swarthmore, Villanova, Merion, Sharon Hill, Queen Lane, Ivy Ridge, Wissahickon and Villanova Route 100 lot. Cars parked overnight at these locations at anytime during non-train service are eligible for towing at owner’s expense.
