Track Work Service Alterations Phase 1 May 7, 2007 – Mid-August 2007 This is a joint Amtrak, PennDot, SEPTA project SEPTA and Amtrak are conducting track renovation work.  Following the new May 6th schedule, Amtrak began work on Monday, May 7th installing concrete ties and continuous-welded rail on Track #1 between Paoli and Bryn Mawr. Phase 2: New Schedule On August 13, Phase 2 of this work will move to Track #4 (outbound service) between Paoli and Overbrook Stations, and will continue through November.  New schedules will go into effect on Sunday, August 12, 2007. Phase 2 Information At the completion of this project, in December 2007, customers will experience an improved ride quality and fewer future maintenance projects as a result of the continuous welded rail and concrete tie installation. SEPTA riders will also enjoy quieter train operations, increased travel speeds, reduced travel times, and enhanced service reliability.
