Looking For 'Moving' Love Stories

Did you find love on SEPTA?

Did you meet a new love while riding on a bus or re-connect with a lost love while traveling on a train?

We want to hear your "moving" love story.

The Mural Arts Program's "A Love Letter for You" is literally a moving love story. The project consists of 50 rooftop murals from 45th to 63rd streets along the Market Street corridor, depicting the words from love letters written by the fictional character Fire to his girlfriend Barbara. The messages can be uniquely viewed while riding on the Market-Frankford Line.

Another moving love story belongs to Leann and Matthew Ashby. Their tale began when they met three years ago through mutual friends. Although they didn't meet on SEPTA, their relationship blossomed as they traveled on SEPTA Regional Rail trains for dates in the city.

The couple, who were married last January, chose to have their wedding portraits taken at the Broad Street Line's Walnut-Locust Station. Leann Ashby said, "We thought it would be a great idea to have our wedding pictures taken at the station since riding SEPTA is such a big part of our lives."

SEPTA wants to know if you have a moving love story. If so, tell us about it and you could win an invitation for you and your significant other to ride the Mural Arts Program's special Valentine's Day decorated "Love Train" From the El you'll view the Love Letter project and afterwards, attend a champagne reception where our winning couples will be celebrated and toasted.

The love stories will be featured on Some of the stories will also appear in the Philadelphia Inquirer's Style and Soul section.
